Blogger Q & A

Hi guys! I was challenged by Tanner Mann, author of The Life of a Womann, to answer a couple of questions that everyone always asks about blogging. I love having this blog because it is my own personal space that I can be who I am and talk about what I love without any judgment. I love the people I have met from blogging and all the other positive aspects that have come from it… you can read more below with an Q & A format.  🙂

DSC_2801

Why did you start a blog? I started my blog as a creative outlet to showcase my fashion and lifestyle decisions all in one place. It was a hobby for me at first and but now with companies sending me products to post within a timely manner, it sort of became like a second job that I haven’t really started making money from yet. LOL everything takes time right?

Where do you get your writing inspiration from? My inspiration comes from a ton of different places, but I think what takes the cake is other bloggers. You learn that every blogger has their own style and you start to follow people (whether it be on Instagram, personal blog, Twitter, etc.) who inspire you. I have purchased a lot of items from the blogs of Caitlin Covington, Emily Gemma, Katey McFarlan, Alyson Haley, McKenna Bleu, just to name a few. These ladies have a fun, bright wardrobe that I love! They are very well-known bloggers who have figured out the game of blogging, and I always love reading their content and/or keeping up with them on social media.

What words do you have for those who are scared to start their blog? JUST DO IT. My advice for you is to come up with a catchy name, start creating your blog, write some content, take some photos, and when you are ready, hit publish. Just because you create a blog doesn’t mean you have to make it public right away… wait until YOU are ready. Also, I have learned the blogging community is a great resource. If you ever need anything or have any questions, most (can’t speak for all) are willing to help because at one time, they probably had the same question!

What are the ups and downs of having your own blog? The positive side of having a blog for me is all the people I am able to connect with that have the same interests as me. The blogging community is huge so you are able to meet a wide variety of women who want to see you succeed and inspire you throughout your journey. I also enjoy discovering new products I probably would’ve never heard of or bought without the company reaching out to me.  The downside would definitely be time management. I work a full-time job, manage my blog, while keeping up with house and dog mom duties and planning our wedding. I feel like I am tired ALL THE TIME. One more downside that I have just realized lately is always being on my phone. I feel like I live on it and some days when I get home from work, I just put it away and don’t look at it for a couple of hours because I just need that time to relax.

What other interests do you have besides your blog? Other interests besides blogging… hmm… I absolutely love shopping, going to the beach (I’m a Floridian, duh!), relaxing and watching Netflix, traveling with my fiancé, having brunch (+ mimosas) with my girls, planning our wedding, the list goes on….

Where do you hope your blog will take you in the future? One day, I hope to be blogging full-time. It’ll probably take a couple of years to actually get to that point, but I could definitely see myself doing it. People think being a full-time blogger is easy-peasy, but it is a 24/7 job. You are always on the clock, whether it be taking photos, answering emails, posting on social media + answering questions on social media, writing content, buying new products to test, traveling, etc.

I hope everyone has a great rest of their week and hope you have learned a thing or two about why I started this blog and keep it going. Love to all!

Victoria Emerson Design Collab Pt. 2

Hi everyone! Happy Monday – I hope everyone had a great weekend, I literally did NOTHING and it felt amazing. Saturday, my fiancé wasn’t feeling well and we spent the afternoon/night on the couch watching movies and I have to admit… I fell asleep at 9! It felt great, and today I have been cleaning & blogging all day. 🙂

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Victoria Emerson Designs and they outdid themselves yet again!! It doesn’t matter what items I pick, I know they will be the cutest, most stylish pieces. I received a variety of necklaces, bracelets, and pair of diamond studs. Below are a few photos of their designs and the links of the products – they have a great collection and you definitely need to check out of their website — HERE.

ShopStevie Adorable Peplum (Collab)

White Denim / Similar // Steve Madden Heels // Kate Spade Handbag

You guys – the minute I laid my eyes on ShopStevie, I fell in love (Sorry Lane)! They have the cutest, trendiest clothes for a reasonable price. How it works is anyone can sign up to be a rep for these super cute clothes, so I had the opportunity to collaborate with Stacey, a rep for ShopStevie, and she is based out of Utah. Once I was able to speak with Stacey and learn all about this company, I became obsessed. If anyone loves their clothes just as much as me, you have the opportunity to host your own ShopStevie party – just get in touch with Stacey (I linked her store website above) and see how it works. Her instagram is also –> here.

Now for the peplum top, I received a Small and it fits perfectly, I love how it is super flowy and it has the small ruffles on the neckline and your wrists. Unfortunately, this blouse is sold out on her website – she actually had to order more after I posted this top on Instagram the first time. It is the perfect color for spring and you can wear it to work or out on date night. It is versatile either way.

So for the good news – Stacey was so sweet she wanted to offer all of you 15% off with the discount code FORTHELOVEOFCOFFEY. I just checked her website, and there are super hot items right now that usually go super fast. So don’t wait, shop now!

Yellow & Bright

Yellow Dress / Similar / Similar // Nude Ankle Strap Heels

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great weekend – as for mine, it was very laid back and relaxing with close friends and family which is exactly what I needed.

Make Me Chic was so kind to send me this adorable, bright yellow dress that would be the perfect Easter dress. I chose an XS and so glad I did, because it fit perfectly everywhere but was already a little too long. Can we just talk about these sleeves for a second?! The entire time I was shooting this outfit – in my head I was singing, “I like big sleeves and I cannot lie.” Hahahahah! It’s so true though – bell sleeves are so on trend right now and these sleeves specifically are such a huge statement for this dress. You’ll definitely be noticed! The shoes I styled with this dress are Sam Edelman, but I’m not sure if the heels were discontinued because I can’t find them anywhere to link for you so I linked a similar nude, ankle strap heel that were less than $25 from the Red Dress Boutique. Love a stylish, inexpensive find! The necklace I paired with the outfit is from Victoria Emerson Designs and I did not link it because I will be doing a blog post on them the first week of April so keep an eye out for that one. 🙂

That is all I have for you tonight, y’all. I hope everyone has a great week at work or on spring break… whatever the week brings. Much love!

OTK Boots

OTK Boots | Denim | Blouse | Kate Spade Handbag | Bangles

Hi everyone! The brand of these boots are Chinese Laundry, and I found them at Burlington Coat Factory for only $40. I knew I had to purchase them, because I have been on the look for forever. I also went to Nordstrom Rack before to check them out and they had REALLY cute OTK boots in light brown & grey, but I feel like they were all too long. I have short legs so I was very picky! 🙂

The fit, the color, and the price of this ASTR blouse had me IN LOVE (for the second time ;)). I love finding a gorgeous, thin top that I can wear all year around here in Florida since it gets so hot. The details on this blouse with the clasp and the strings you can tie gives it a completely different look if that is how you decide to wear it.

On the reals, I missed you guys! I am so happy to be back blogging and being interactive on  my Instagram page. Make sure you are following me on there – @kristinncoffey. Keep a look out on a lot of exciting posts and collaborations I have coming up. 🙂

Green Cold Shoulder Sweater — MakeMeChic Collab

Happy Halloweeeeeen, friends!

dsc_4094dsc_4122dsc_4108dsc_4104dsc_4102dsc_4125dsc_4111

Green Asymmetric Cold Shoulder Sweater // Dark Denim // Sam Edelman Pumps // Dual Stone Ring – 1/2 off right now

I partnered with MakeMeChic for this blog post, and they were sweet enough to send me this adorable sweater! I am obsessing over it right now, and have worn it multiple times. I’m really digging the asymmetrical one cold shoulder style, makes the sweater sexy and different imo. The material is actually really soft and not itchy at all. I’m always worried when I purchase or receive sweaters from online, because if I don’t like the material, you will not catch me wearing it.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was a relaxing one for my fiancé and I which was nice 🙂 we watched the Gators kick Georgia’s butt and went to a Halloween party Saturday night as The Purge. My first Halloween in 24 years that I dressed up as something scary. Lol! Today we carved aka painted pumpkins, which might I add I enjoy 100% more!!!!

The Wallflower Maxi Skirt

Hi babes –

This maxi skirt was an accidental find, but I am absolutely thrilled I found it; I was in a store called Sandy’s, a resale boutique in Gainesville, Fl. People bring their NWT or gently used clothing to Sandy’s and exchange it for cash. Easy way to keep your closet up-to-date with the latest fashion. I love the idea!

Back to the skirt details, when I found it at Sandy’s, it still had the tags on it, and it was a perfect fit. I was so excited! The maxi skirt is just the perfect look for summer with a white or blush crop top, and a dainty or statement piece necklace. Even though summer is coming to an end, I live in Florida where it’s beach weather all year-round. This skirt is from an Australian website called The Wallflower, but it can also be found at Revolve. It runs at $90, and I bought it for $NINE WITH TAGS!!!!! Uhmmmm, can you say steal?!?! Such a great buy. One more thing, my bag is a designer dupe from Target- $14, but I just checked and the price went back to normal at $29, still not bad!! I will link the designer bag and always the one I bought.

Guest Blogger ft. Tanner Mann

Hi beauties, I feel like this has been a Monday from, you know where. I am so not used to publishing on Monday’s so I have felt like I have been running around/hurrying home from work so I have time to perfect everything before I hit “publish”.

Nevertheless, I have been very excited to post this particular blog post since last week because I have collaborated with my soul sister/fellow blogger, Tanner Mann, author of “The Life of a Womann”. We came up with a set of “interview-like” questions to ask each other, so we could express ourselves and show you all why we love blogging, how we got started, etc. Below are Tanner’s answers — Also, don’t forget to head on over to The Life of a Womann to check out my answers!

IMG_4950.JPGIMG_4951.JPG

Of course when { T W O } bloggers get together, we can’t go without a little photo sesh… even in the rain 😛

  1. Why did you start blogging?
  • I have always had such a love for beauty, makeup, and fashion. In high school I started watching makeup tutorials and completely fell in love with the media side of beauty.  Starting a blog was an outlet for my creativity and inspiration.  I love being able to share a new product that I just can’t live without or finding a deal that I know everyone else would enjoy!

  1. How much time do you spend on your blog a week?
  • Believe it or not, constructing a blog post is much more than sitting down and writing the words that come to mind. I have a journal that is specific to planning blog ideas. Once I have decided on the subject, I take the time to pick out an outfit for blog/Instagram pictures. Getting ready for pictures takes up the most time—and then finding a location and taking the pictures.  Sometimes a post even involves a bit of research.  With all of these aspects of blogging involved, I spend approximately 10-15 hours per week.

  1. What blogger/vlogger inspires you the most?
  • When it comes to makeup I am most inspired by Jaclyn Hill. She shares all of her beauty tips and tricks on her YouTube channel and blog.  When I am in a rut and just need a new idea, I always look to this beautiful soul to get my creative juices flowing.
  • My fashion icon is Desi Perkins! If you aren’t following her on all social media platforms, you should be. She is a makeup/fashion vlogger from L.A, who always pushes the limits and slays every outfit.

  1. Is blogging a profession for you or just a hobby?
  • As of now, blogging is a hobby. I work a full time job during the week and spend most of my time on the weekends blogging, I would love to one day dedicate all of my time to blogging and have the opportunity to make a career of it.

  1. What is the most challenging part about blogging?
  • Coming into blogging I thought this would be an extremely fun and easy process. I learned how wrong I was very quickly.  I think the most challenging part is Instagram/taking pictures.  Because I work a full time job, I don’t get to slay a stiletto heel every day, so I try to take most of my pictures on the weekend to last throughout the week.  When taking pictures, you have to find the perfect background, get the perfect angle, and find the perfect edit.  I am still training my husband on the angles.

  1. How did you come up with your blog name?
  • When choosing the name of my blog, I wanted something fun and chic that still incorporated my personality and what my platform was. Since most of my content is geared towards women and my last name is Mann, “The Life of a Womann” fit the part perfectly.  This actually came to me out of nowhere…that is when you know it is the one.

  1. In the future, where do you see yourself in the blogging world?
  • My goal and dream is to start a beauty YouTube channel and start producing vlogs, while still blogging weekly. I love everything about the blogging/vlogging world and would love to live a hustle and bustle life in New York City blogging for large makeup and fashion companies.

  1. What is your favorite trend at the moment?
  • If you follow me on any social media, you will not be surprised with this answer. I am so obsessed with chokers right now.  I love them with any and every outfit, dressy or casual.  They just add a hint of sass to any outfit and also create slimming effect.Picture1

This was such a fun post and bringing it to life was even more fun. We got together last week, did our makeup, took pictures, ate Bento (our fav!!!!), danced a little, took more pictures and just had a blast being the girly girls we are. I can’t wait to do it again. We have a couple more collaboration ideas, so if you enjoyed this post let us know what you think about doing more. I know we are super excited about them!

Warby Parker

There’s only a couple things better than the feeling of looking at the beautiful summer blue sky with a new pair of shades on. I don’t know about you but I get overly excited when I get my hands on some stylish, affordable sunglasses, so excited that I never want to take them off. Have you all heard of Warby ParkerAmong many things, there are { T H R E E } things that pop out about this company that I absolutely love!!

The first and ultimate thing is the fact that they give back. A large percentage of the world can’t afford to buy glasses, which means people are not able to learn or work effectively. Warby Parker has generously teamed up with non-profits such as VisionSpring so that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair will be distributed to someone in need.

The second thing I love about this company is their “Home Try On” abilities.  This aspect of the company allows a customer to choose 5 pairs of sunglasses or prescription glasses that they will ship to you for 5 days. That gives you plenty of time to get a feel for all of glasses before you have to send them back. They’ll send you a fresh new pair of the ones (or more) you love. Can you honestly tell me another company that does that?

The third thing is their limited edition Field Series Line that was launched this summer. The new line has 3 distinct styles with 2 colors to choose from. The polarized frames are perfect for taking in that beautiful, summer, blue sky I mentioned earlier.

  • The first of the three styles is the Reed, which comes in a Green Spruce or Jet Black Matte if you are going for a sleek, sexy look. Just picture black leather pants, black pumps with a stylish blouse. Now, who came up with orange is the new black? You’ll be looking like a celebrity!! Another more casual look for inspiration below!
    • WP_Reed_101_Sunglasses_Angle_A2_sRGBProductImageStyleGuide_v2FullSizeRender-15
  • The second style is the Grady, which comes in Whiskey Tortoise (Gorgeous!!!) and Crystal Aqua. This style has fun cutout details that makes the Grady’s that much more fashionable.
    • ProductImageStyleGuide_v2ProductImageStyleGuide_v2
  • Finally, the third style is the Bonnie aka my personal favorite. The look of these sunglasses are more round, with an oversized frame. The 2 colors it comes in are Walnut Tortoise with Polished Gold (the ones I have been eyeing and might be purchasing soon, also shown in the picture below!) and the other color is Grapefruit Soda with Reisling. Some outfit inspiration below for this style of sunglasses.
    • WP_Bonnie_242_Sunglasses_Angle_A3_sRGBProductImageStyleGuide_v2FullSizeRender-1

This limited edition set of sunglasses need to be your next summer purchase. The freedom they give you to dress them up however you decide is one of my favorite things about them. Warby Parker is located all over the United States. Their products can also be found on their website www.warbyparker.com.
