Victoria Emerson Design Collab Pt. 2

Hi everyone! Happy Monday – I hope everyone had a great weekend, I literally did NOTHING and it felt amazing. Saturday, my fiancé wasn’t feeling well and we spent the afternoon/night on the couch watching movies and I have to admit… I fell asleep at 9! It felt great, and today I have been cleaning & blogging all day. 🙂

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Victoria Emerson Designs and they outdid themselves yet again!! It doesn’t matter what items I pick, I know they will be the cutest, most stylish pieces. I received a variety of necklaces, bracelets, and pair of diamond studs. Below are a few photos of their designs and the links of the products – they have a great collection and you definitely need to check out of their website — HERE.

Yellow & Bright

Yellow Dress / Similar / Similar // Nude Ankle Strap Heels

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great weekend – as for mine, it was very laid back and relaxing with close friends and family which is exactly what I needed.

Make Me Chic was so kind to send me this adorable, bright yellow dress that would be the perfect Easter dress. I chose an XS and so glad I did, because it fit perfectly everywhere but was already a little too long. Can we just talk about these sleeves for a second?! The entire time I was shooting this outfit – in my head I was singing, “I like big sleeves and I cannot lie.” Hahahahah! It’s so true though – bell sleeves are so on trend right now and these sleeves specifically are such a huge statement for this dress. You’ll definitely be noticed! The shoes I styled with this dress are Sam Edelman, but I’m not sure if the heels were discontinued because I can’t find them anywhere to link for you so I linked a similar nude, ankle strap heel that were less than $25 from the Red Dress Boutique. Love a stylish, inexpensive find! The necklace I paired with the outfit is from Victoria Emerson Designs and I did not link it because I will be doing a blog post on them the first week of April so keep an eye out for that one. 🙂

That is all I have for you tonight, y’all. I hope everyone has a great week at work or on spring break… whatever the week brings. Much love!

Olive u Jumpsuit

Olive Jumpsuit // Sam Edelman Heels // Tory Burch Wristlet

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday aka Hump Day! I am snuggled up on the couch drinking wine, watching How I Met Your Mother (my guilty pleasure, thx Tanner!!) and just finished eating my lettuce wraps. NomNom! I hope your night is going just as well!

This olive jumpsuit is by GB by Gianni Bini from Dillards and it fits like a glove! My friend made me try it on, even though I didn’t want too because I knew if I fit well I would fall in love. Well guys… I fell in love and bought it. The slide slits make it even more edgy and sassy. I linked all of the products above so you can shop from those links. Don’t forget on Instagram you can screenshot my photos and if you have the Liketoknow. It app, all the deets will pop up so you don’t have to receive those emails.

I hope everyone has a great rest of your week! My fiancé and I are taking engagement photos on Friday and I am STOKED!!! 🙂

Blue & White OTS #Ootd

Hi beauties –

Sorry I have been MIA this past week; I took a week off to gather my ideas and outfits for a couple different blog posts I had in mind. I bought a couple of things from the website SheIn, and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality and * CUTENESS * of the products! The material was thick, and wasn’t see-through at all. The outfit I wore today was a romper I bought, and I am always a little sketched when I buy rompers because I never know how long the shorts part is going to be since I am so short! This particular romper though fits me to a T. I absolutely love it!!! I got an XS incase anyone wanted to compare while shopping on the website! The best part besides that it is adorable and OTS (off the shoulder) is that it is only $16.99, which you can’t really beat!

Shop this look — Romper: SheIn // Shoes: Similar Here

5 Things I LOVE about this outfit:

  1. Price
  2. OTS (off the shoulder)
  3. Ruffles
  4. Romper
  5. Stripes

Current Obsessions + the #Nsale

At the beginning of every week, I start to research and decide what I want to blog about for the upcoming week. There were literally a thousand things I wanted to write about for this post, so I decided to do a “Current Obsession” post. With the Anniversary Sale going on at Nordstrom (like a Black Friday for Nordstrom) and many personal products that I love, I have so much I want to share.

If you don’t know what the Anniversary Sale or #Nsale is, Nordstrom has a MAJOR sale every year where they bring in BRAND NEW ARRIVALS at SUPER SALE PRICES!!! So all the new Fall fashions are on the sale right now. The sale opened up July 14th, but it was an early access for Nordstrom Card Holders only. Today, July 22nd, it opens up to the public, so ANYONE can shop!!! If you are in a shopping mood, head over to Nordstrom and shop shop shop! I will share what I bought and my personal favs from the sale as well.

One of my favorites from the #Nsale is the “Karly” Shift Dress by Lush. This dress is gorgeous, comes in 8+ colors, and only $31 right now. Definitely a steal and such great quality. I added the link above so you can check it out for yourself. 🙂

My next fav from the #Nsale are basic tees. One of my favorite summer looks is jean shorts and a basic tee with cute lace up shoes or espadrilles. So simple but stylish. Lush makes the perfect basic tee, I bought it almost in every color. They are on sale right now for $15!!

I can’t wait to share the other items I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I have to patiently wait for everything to come in the mail! Sad……… so I wanted to share other products that I am currently obsessing over that doesn’t have to do with the #Nsale 🙂

First: Limencello Candle from B&BW – my absolutely favorite!! I originally bought it to try it out because all my friends were obsessing over it so I figured why not? Well, I went back and bought three more… it just makes your house smell so lemony fresh and its such a soft smell, if you know what I mean. I recommend it 100%!

Second: ANY pink polish for summer, the last 3 months my nails have been various shades of pink. Not ashamed…. it is such a pretty color for summer!!

Third: Chanel lipgloss, one of my friends sadly told me that this color was only a limited edition which is unfortunate. If I knew, I would’ve bought more!! Chanel has a ton of colors in this certain lipgloss that I am not worried you couldn’t find one you loved.

Fourth: Hempz Herbal Body Moisturizer in Vanilla Plum, I bought this only a few weeks ago and have used it every day. It comes in lots of different scents and it took me about 20 minutes to find out the one I wanted. I wanted them all!! Lol! I linked Ulta which they are $16.99, but I actually found this one at TJ Maxx for $12.

Fifth: Tartlette In Bloom eyeshadow palette – I bought this in the spring, but have used it almost daily this summer. The colors are so neutral and pretty for summer, it barely looks like you have anything on! Love it and recommend it. It also smells like chocolate! 😛

Sixth: Anything book by Lauren Weisberger – her books are great for a quick summer read if you are into that sorta thing! Loving this book right now “Chasing Harry Winston”!

Seventh: One more of my favorite this summer is the colored drink from Starbucks! My favorite though is the #OrangeDrink. I am obsessed with oranges and mangos so naturally its my number one. If you haven’t tried it yet, please try it!!! The ingredients are Orange/Mango Juice, Vanilla Powder, and Coconut Milk.

What are your current summer obsessions? I would love to hear and maybe try out for myself 🙂 Don’t forget to follow my adventures on Instagram!

How I Became a Morning Person

Rise & Shine friends, it is 8am and my internal alarm clock is waking me up! With Lane’s work schedule completely opposite from mine, I have slowly started becoming a morning person, and I absolutely love it. Waking up early (when I say early, I mean 8 am) gives me plenty of hours in the day to finish housework, schoolwork, wedding planning, work work, and anything else the day has to offer without staying up into all hours of the night. This leaves me feeling refreshed when I wake up in the morning, instead of groggy and sleepy. Being a college student, the norm is to stay up late and wake up late, but I think I have figured out that is not the best for me. I want to share with you how I became a morning person and all the perks it has given me. 🙂

wake up

ONE: This is the most important rule for me, set goals for yourself for the day. Every morning when I wake up I either write down or make a mental note of everything I want to get done for the day by a certain time. Doing this helps me not to procrastinate and wait until the sun goes down to start everything on my list. Lane gets off work at 3:30pm daily, so I like to try to have all of the items on my list checked off by that time (if I don’t have to work). That gives me almost 8 hours to accomplish whatever I need to do.

TWO: When I first wake up, I brew a pot of coffee and make myself an vanilla iced coffee and scroll through any social media/blogs/news that I come across. Not a big fan of hot coffee especially in the summer months, but I do love myself an iced coffee (any flavor, really). Making time FOR ME like that in the morning is so relaxing and calm. I usually spend about 15-30 minutes doing so, while enjoying breakfast, which leads me to my next point.

THREE: Eat breakfast. Believe it or not, this was VERY hard for me. I am NOT a breakfast person at all, I usually eat around 10 or 11 am or just end up eating lunch around noon. Lane eats as soon as he wakes up, so I have become accustomed to eating within the hour I wake up. Also, I am NOT a big breakfast eater; I will usually drink a protein shake or make some toast & jelly or eat a granola bar never forgetting to re-hydrate (always drink plenty of water in the morning). It does make you feel better though, those days that I get up and eat, I feel more energized and ready to start the day.

FOUR: DON’T HIT SNOOZE. Whatever you do, do not hit the snooze button. Get up as soon as the alarm goes off, and don’t look back. Once you fall back asleep after you hit snooze, you are just asking to feel tired, sluggish, and blah. Just roll out of bed, start mentally preparing your goals for the day, brush your teeth, throw some cold water on your face and I promise you will wake up.

FIVE: When you wake up in the morning, take 2 minutes while still in bed to just streeeeeeetch. I honestly don’t do this every single morning, but when I do it makes me feel 1000000% better. Especially those nights that I am on my feet for hours at work not getting home until 10 or 11 pm.

SIX: This goes with the point above, but I feel so much better throughout the day when I get up and work out in the morning. I haven’t done this in a while, because I usually get up and work on schoolwork or my blog. Yoga or a quick 20 minute cardio sesh is perfect right when you wake up, it gets the blood flowing for the day. 😉

Perks of waking up early:

  • Less stressed
  • Gives you a head start for the day
  • Never be late again
  • Improve your quality of sleep
  • More proactive & optimistic
  • Plan your day better
  • Set goals for yourself
  • Gives you quiet time
  • Enjoy breakfast instead of “eat on the go”
  • If you’re up early enough, you get to watch the sunrise

I was reading an article the other day, and I came across something Steve Jobs said and I absolutely loved it. When he woke up every morning, he would ask himself one simple question, “Every morning I’d ask myself, ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?”

Another quote by Ben Franklin, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

I know this post is a little different from my usual blog post, but I felt the need to share how I became a morning person. Now that we are all getting older, graduating from college, working the real 9-5 job, it is important to get your life on track and start living a healthy lifestyle. You don’t think at this age right now it is hurting your body, but the time will come and it will creep up on you. So give it a try, and if it works out, I will be super excited for you!!!! 🙂

Yesterday’s #OOTD ft. the Perfect LBD

I don’t know what is more rewarding in the fashion world than finding THE perfect, inexpensive LBD (little black dress) for summer. There are so many options with just one piece of clothing, you can add heels and a leather jacket to dress it up or kick on some chucks and throw on a flannel to make it casual, the choice is yours. That is why I am obsessed with pieces like a little black dress, because they go with whatever my mood is. Don’t mind my iPhone photos, it was all I had. 😉

LBD: sold out from Forever 21, super affordable and similar here | Flannel: you can use any color or style, mine is from Charlotte Russe | Shoes: sold out from Altar’d State, but similar here | Handbag: Michael Kors, same style but smaller here (on sale), or similar handbag here

LBD ft. the #pinkdrink from @Starbucks. Highly recommend if you have never tried it 🙂 tastes like strawberry milk x 10000000.

Don’t forget to keep up with me on Instagram for more #ootd’s ♥

My Favorite Beauty Bloggers

If you’re a girl and you are into reading blogs/blogging, then you know the feeling when your phone buzzes with that e-mail that one of your favorite bloggers just went LIVE with a new blog post. I get absolutely thrilled! I love reading their content or seeing their new photos on Instagram. It gives me inspiration for my own blog and the person I want to become. They are so fun, inspiring and so full of life that you can’t HELP but LOVE them!

My absolute FAVORITE blogger ever is Emily Ann Gemma with The Sweetest Thing. I literally follow her on everything, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and of course her actual blog. Her style is my style. She wears the cutest outfits, has the best handbags, and can’t forget her adorable little pup, Fitz who stars in most of her snaps. Her blend of beauty, travel, lifestyle, and fashion is the perfect mix to any blog. Her home decor and how she decorates her house is to die for, it makes me want to sell everything in my house and start from scratch. Oh and her PERFECT PERFECT hair!!!!

My next favorite blogger is Caitlin Coving, author of Southern Curls and Pearls. I also follow her on many social media sites. Caitlin and Emily (Blogger above) are actually friends and hang out a lot which is adorable to me. Like Emily, Caitlin has a super cute, preppy style that I absolutely love! I watch these girls snapchats and pretty much consider them “friends” because I can relate to everything they are talking about. Funny, right?!

The last blogger is actually a new one, I recently started following Katey McFarlan, author of Chronicles of Frivolity. Her bright, outgoing personality is inspiring, and I love reading her blogs. I only follow Katey on Instagram and of course, her blog site. Like Emily, her home decor is gorgeous and inspires me to redecorate. She also has a super cute pup that I am obsessed with. Her style is more simple with cute statement pieces.

I know everyone has a favorite blogger, so who is it? I would love to know, so I can start following them. New inspiration is always a good thing. 🙂

Sephora Haul

This past weekend, Sephora had a sale for all their VIB card holders that granted you 20% off your entire purchase. You know I couldn’t say no when I received that coupon in the mail. They rarely have sales so you have to take advantage whenever they do. I bought a couple of things I have been wanting to try and some things that I needed to refill. Nevertheless, it was a successful shopping trip if I do say so myself.

To start off, I purchased the Sephora Masks that I have been wanting to try. I bought 4, but used one before I did this blog post. I bought a Green Tea Mask that is for Mattifying and AntiBlemish, a Pearl Mask which is for Perfecting and Brightening, and a Pomegranate Mask that helps Fatigue and Energizing. The one I had already used was a Lotus Mask which Moisturized the skin and when I woke up this morning, my skin felt so soft. They are sold for $6 at any Sephora store. Face Masks – Sephora, Find Here

Next, I bought a mini trial set of Tarte lipsticks. I am so picky when it comes to lip color so I like to have a couple trial runs before I spend $20 on a lipstick.  Not to mention, the packaging on these lipsticks are the cutest and I like the different colors of pink they offer. I have a feeling I am going to fall in love with more than one color.

The colors from left to right (bottom and top picture) are Sangria, Punch, Mimosa, and Bellini.

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla was a refill. Last time I went to Sephora I bought the travel size of this, and absolutely loved it. It works wonders with my skin, and blends in so naturally. No creases or cake-ness. If you have combination of dry/oily skin, I definitely recommend this product. Nars Concealer – Sephora, Find here

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder – I was on the search for a new pressing powder to set my foundation. I usually use Mac Studio Fix Pressed Powder, but I wanted to try something new. I asked a sales associate from Sephora for her opinion. She recommended the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. I bought the travel size, because I wanted to try it out before spending $40 on the normal size. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder – Sephora, Find here Has anyone used this before? How do you like it?

Becca Backlight Primer Filter – I bought this on my last trip to Sephora, and I love it. I mix it with my foundation Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet, and it brightens and smooths my face. I had to add it to my Haul because I haven’t been able to do a product review on it. On the plus side, this primer smells amazing, and lasts a while. Becca Backlight Primer Filter – Sephora, Find here

Sephora Eyeshadow Pallete Wonderful Dreams – This was something that was NOT on my list. I was standing in line to check-out, and you know how it is they have all the little travel size, cute products you look at while waiting. I saw this, and it was super cute. It was only $10, so I had to get one. The eyeshadow tones are beautiful. So excited to try out this product.

So now, I am up at the check-out line and you get points for being a VIB card holder, and I have about 400+ points. I aways hold onto them until they have something I absolutely want. Well, I ended up getting a 100 pt gift which was a Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I can’t wait to try it out!

Here we have it, my Sephora Haul from last weekend. I can’t wait to try out all of these products. Has anyone used these products before? Anyone have any other recommendations for products they love? I love trying out new products!

Love you all Xx
